This is what it looks like...

when your only son, your only child for that matter

buckles up in to Grammy and Pappy's car and begins the long journey

from Vermont to Pennsylvania for the very first time without his

Mama and Papa.

After a lovely weekend with Champ's family, Bear and his grandparents have headed  back to PA. where Bear will be kept busy I'm sure entertaining and visiting the masses (both my family and Champ's live in the same town).  I'll keep you posted, but for now, where oh where do I begin to spend my free time today??!!!

(ps: Bear, we miss you)

He's gonna have a blast. You will miss him terribly, but he's having a fabulous time... and... then... you're gonna want to let him go with them again... and again... and again! What a blessing to be able to have some free time to yourself while KNOWING that Bear is having a great time too. It's just the best.

What a bittersweet moment! I'm always up for a little mom break, but then I'm also so ready to get back to them.

OH, now that's a tough one... I have never been good at that kind of thing. But.. I think the commenters above have a healthier attitude than I. Enjoy the time with your Champ.

Whenever I do something like this, I find myself wandering around wondering what I'm missing. I'm always looking for something that's not there. It's weird. But I do eventually get some work done and that is nice.
Enjoy all that extra alone time with your husband!

My oldest son would cry all the way, saying he didn't want to go back home. The crying was over the second he saw his dad. He loved coming home to his dad....and mom. Enjoy.

He'll have a blast and you'll miss him, but it's good for everyone - especially the grandparents :). I'm sure you'll manage to find something to fill your time ;)

You didn't cry too much did ya? I know he is going to have a blast with everyone and you need to enjoy your free time!

The times that the boys spent with their Oma were similar to what Colleen wrote. I felt like something was missing, but then again she lives only 10 minutes away so I wasn't too worried. It is a little tough at first (no lie) but then getting things done alone was nice and I loved spending the extra time with da hubbster. I'm sure you know what I mean ;) It will be good for everyone. ((hugs)) have fun!

Awww...Did it make your stomach hurt watching him drive off?? I still get that funny feeling in my tummy when my kids branch out without me!

Enjoy the time to yourself! Cook, snap pictures, read, sleep! How long is he gone for?

The carseat picture is so sweet!

Relax, enjoy the day. I hope to be in your corner of the world in late May/early June. After mud season and during black fly days!

Miss you!

As you read this comment, you're lounging in your pajamas, eating (probably homemade) chocolates, right? While your toenails dry? THAT BETTER BE HOW IT IS.

Enjoy, and know that Bear is as happy as a clam with all the grandparent spoiling going on right this very moment. He'll be home soon!

Awesome 1st picture! Must be an awesome yet sad feeling. The only time I was away from my son (overnight) was when I was having the twins. I would love to have time away, but I would so miss them. Maybe when they are older, my mom will take them for a night, or maybe my sister in law.
